Golden Milk

On these blustery autumn days Golden Milk is the perfect drink to bring to work or to take with your breakfast. Curcuma, kunyit, otherwise known as turmeric is very easy to incorporate into almost any dish and above all it's very healthy. It adds a beautiful warm color to your food and drinks. With the weather getting colder, you can drink this creamy, warm, sweet drink instead of hot chocolate or chai tea. Golden milk it is!

Ingredients:

  • 600 ml almond or coconut milk, unsweetened
  • 2 tsp turmeric powder (or freshly grated)
  • 1 cinnamon stick or 1/2 tsp 
  • a pinch of sea salt 
  • ½ tsp cardamom
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • 2 tsp ginger, freshly grated the powdered form
  • 2 tsp honey, optional

Recipe:

Heat the milk in a saucepan and add the spices. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes. Then pour the mixture through a tea sieve into two mugs and squeeze a bit of honey in each one to sweeten. Now just sit back and relax.
